About the Neighborhood

At the heart of the Highland neighborhood is the massive ever-changing and ever beautiful Highland Park, which has attracted visitors from all over the world to the annual ten day Lilac Festival for over 100 years. Martha Stewart was presented with a lilac named for her when she visited in 2007. Highland Park couldn't be a more splendid festival grounds. Packed with flowering fruit and magnolia trees, over 1200 lilac bushes, and splendid flower beds of tulips and pansies, the 155 acre park continuously evolves throughout the seasons. The Highland neighborhood is also home to Colgate Divinity, the University of Rochester, and Mount Hope Cemetery, all of which are perfectly suited to an afternoon stroll through some of the finest landscapes in the city's Southeast. Many of the houses in the Highland neighborhood are single-family homes, however there are multi-family rental properties mixed in as well.
