The Upper Monroe is tucked between Cobb's Hill Park, Pinnacle Hill in Brighton, Swillburg, and Interstate 490, making it a convenient neighborhood that is surrounded by interesting places to eat, shop, and enjoy nature. Not to mention, Monroe Avenue, a central commercial corridor with some great bars and culinary favorites, such as Le Lemon Grass, runs right through the center of the Upper Monroe neighborhood. A combination of the very desirable location, and the chance to live in the large, beautiful old houses, built in the 1910's and 1920's, lures in people of all kinds, young and old, families and singles, students and professionals. Because the neighborhood is so small, many apartments rent for a premium in Upper Monroe, but the people who call this neighborhood home would probably tell you that its worth it in exchange for the excitement, convenience, and daily enjoyment of living here.
